Braces in Jumeirah, Dubai

Metal and ceramic braces in Jumeirah, Dubai

Fixed braces are still one of the most dependable ways to straighten teeth, especially for more complex movements. Your treatment is planned and led by Dr. Khalid Aletaibi from a digital scan and a full assessment of your whole mouth, then delivered together with our clinical team. We aim for a bite that is healthy and balanced, not only front teeth that look straight.

Which braces are right for me?

Metal braces are hard wearing and handle the widest range of cases, including complex bite corrections, which often makes them the most economical choice. Ceramic braces use tooth coloured brackets to be less noticeable and suit patients who want a more discreet look. Both are fixed in place and work continuously, so they do not depend on you remembering to wear them. If you would prefer something removable, clear aligners may suit milder cases. Your plan is decided from your digital scan, your bite and your own goals, and it is discussed with you before anything begins.

Your options

01

Metal braces

Stainless steel brackets and wires bonded to the teeth and adjusted over time. Modern metal braces are smaller and more comfortable than older versions, and they remain highly efficient at moving teeth.

Best for

A wide range of cases, including more complex crowding and bite corrections, and younger patients who may not wear a removable appliance consistently. Often the most economical option.

02

Ceramic braces

Fixed braces that use tooth coloured or clear brackets so they blend in with the teeth. They work in the same way as metal braces but are much less noticeable in photographs and conversation.

Best for

Adults and teenagers who want fixed braces but would prefer a more discreet appearance, in cases where the extra visibility of metal is a concern.

03

Prefer removable? Clear aligners

If your case is mild to moderate and you would rather avoid fixed brackets, clear aligners such as Invisalign are a removable, discreet alternative. We look at whether they can predictably do what your case needs.

Best for

Mild to moderate crowding or spacing in patients who will wear the aligners consistently. See our clear aligners page for how we decide.

How your braces treatment works with us

  1. Consultation and whole mouth assessment

You meet Dr. Khalid Aletaibi for an unhurried consultation. He checks the health of your teeth, gums and bite so the plan considers your whole mouth, not only the front teeth.

  2. Digital scan, records and plan

A digital scan and the necessary records let Dr. Khalid plan the tooth movements, choose between metal and ceramic, and review the likely timing and what to expect with you.

  3. Fitting the braces

The brackets are bonded to your teeth and the first wire is fitted. This is done with the clinical team, and Dr. Khalid oversees the case so the plan stays on track from the start.

  4. Regular adjustments

You return periodically so the wires can be adjusted and progress checked. Dr. Khalid reviews the case and refines the plan as your teeth respond.

  5. Removal and retainers

When treatment is complete the braces are removed and the enamel is polished. You are fitted with retainers and shown how to use them, so the new position of your teeth is maintained.

Common questions

Braces questions patients ask

Do braces hurt?
It is normal to feel some pressure or tenderness for a few days when the braces are first fitted and after each adjustment, as the teeth begin to move. The brackets and wires can also rub against the cheeks at first. This usually settles and can be eased with simple measures your dentist will explain. Tell us if anything feels sharp so it can be smoothed.
How long does treatment with braces take?
Treatment time depends on how much your teeth need to move and how complex your bite is. Simpler cases finish faster than complex ones. After your scan and records, Dr. Khalid gives you a realistic estimate for your own case rather than a fixed promise, and attending your adjustment visits on time helps keep treatment on schedule.
What is the difference between metal and ceramic braces?
They work in the same way; the main difference is appearance. Metal braces use silver brackets that are visible but very hard wearing, and are often the more economical choice. Ceramic braces use tooth coloured brackets that blend in and are much less noticeable, which many adults prefer. For very complex cases metal can still be the more reliable option. Dr. Khalid discusses which suits your case at the consultation.
Can adults get braces, or is it only for children?
Adults can have braces at almost any age, as long as the gums and supporting bone are healthy. Many adults choose ceramic braces or clear aligners for a more discreet look. Dr. Khalid Aletaibi checks the health of your mouth first, then discusses the options that suit you.
What foods should I avoid with braces?
It helps to avoid very hard, sticky or chewy foods that can loosen a bracket or bend a wire, such as hard nuts, hard sweets, and chewing gum. Cutting firm foods like apples and carrots into smaller pieces makes them easier to manage. Your dentist gives you a simple list to follow so you can keep eating comfortably while protecting the braces.
Should I choose braces or clear aligners?
It depends on your case, not on which is more fashionable. Braces are fixed and work continuously, which suits complex movements and patients who prefer not to rely on wearing a removable appliance. Clear aligners such as Invisalign are removable and discreet and suit many mild to moderate cases. Dr. Khalid reviews your scan and your goals and explains honestly where each option would perform well for you.
Will I need retainers after my braces come off?
Yes. Teeth can drift back towards their old position, so retainers are an essential part of any orthodontic plan. Once the braces are removed you are fitted with retainers and shown how to wear and care for them to help hold your result over time.
