Coming to Dubai for dental treatment

Before you book, send the radiographs you already have, photographs of the teeth you are concerned about, and any plan written elsewhere, by WhatsApp or email, with your dates. The reply explains how that kind of treatment usually runs, how many appointments it typically takes, and where the dates would be tight, and your records are ready for your first appointment. It is planning help, not a consultation: your teeth are assessed and a plan is agreed only after an examination in Dubai.

The most useful answer is sometimes the least welcome one: that the kind of work you want usually needs more days than you have. Hearing it before booking takes a message. Hearing it in the chair takes a whole journey with it.

Some work is genuinely self-contained: an examination with full records, hygiene treatment, composite restorations, a night guard scanned and delivered, whitening trays made to fit. Some work has a laboratory stage in the middle of it, which sets a floor on how few days it can occupy, because a ceramic restoration is made between the preparation appointment and the fitting appointment and that time is not negotiable.

And some work has a biological interval that no schedule shortens. What that means in practice for a visitor is that the first phase can be carried out here, the chart is written down and given to you, and the reassessment happens either on a second visit or with your own dentist working from the same numbers. Either is honest. Declaring the treatment complete at the end of the week is not.

The documentation is not paperwork, it is the thing that makes the work maintainable four thousand kilometres away. You leave with your radiographs and photographs, the written plan, a record of what was done at each visit, and the specific materials and shades used. A dentist anywhere can adjust, polish, or repair a restoration when they know exactly what it is made of; without that, the safest thing they can do is replace it.

Where a lesion was managed conservatively rather than cut out completely, that is written down too, because the international consensus on carious tissue removal is explicit that contaminated or demineralised tissue close to a living pulp does not need removing, and a clinician who does not know that decision was deliberate may open the tooth again looking for what was left.^[3]
