PATIENT RESOURCES

Care guides for your dental health.

Practical, evidence-based guidance to help you maintain your results and protect your oral health between visits.

After Your Restoration

What to expect and how to care for your teeth after a filling, inlay, onlay, or crown.

1Avoid chewing on the treated side for 24 hours if numbness is present.
2Mild sensitivity to hot and cold is normal for up to two weeks.
3Brush gently around the restoration. Resume flossing after 24 hours.
4Avoid very hard or sticky foods for the first 48 hours.
5Contact us if sensitivity worsens or your bite feels uneven.

After Whitening Treatment

Maximize your results and protect your newly whitened teeth.

1Avoid dark-colored food and beverages (coffee, tea, red wine) for 48 hours.
2Use the provided sensitivity gel if you experience discomfort.
3Brush with a soft toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste.
4Drink water frequently and use a straw for colored beverages.
5Results last 12 to 18 months with proper care and occasional touch-ups.

Night Guard Care

How to use and maintain your custom night guard for optimal protection.

1Wear your night guard every night for consistent protection.
2Rinse it with cool water after each use. Clean weekly with a soft brush.
3Store it in the ventilated case provided. Never wrap it in tissue.
4Keep it away from heat and direct sunlight to prevent warping.
5Bring it to every dental appointment so we can check the fit and wear.

Diet and Dental Health

Foods and habits that protect your teeth, and those that harm them.

1Limit sugary and acidic foods. The frequency of exposure matters more than the amount.
2Wait 30 minutes after acidic food or drink before brushing to protect softened enamel.
3Cheese, nuts, and fibrous vegetables help neutralize acid and stimulate saliva.
4Water is the best drink for your teeth. Sip water throughout the day.
5Crunchy fruits and vegetables (apples, carrots, celery) act as natural tooth cleansers.

Dental Emergencies

What to do before you reach us in an urgent situation.

1Knocked-out tooth: Hold by the crown, rinse gently, place in milk, and come in within 30 minutes.
2Broken tooth: Rinse your mouth, apply a cold compress to reduce swelling, and contact us immediately.
3Severe toothache: Rinse with warm salt water, take over-the-counter pain relief, and call us.
4Lost filling or crown: Keep the restoration if possible and avoid chewing on that side.
5Swelling or abscess: Do not apply heat. Contact us urgently as antibiotics may be needed.

Daily Oral Hygiene

The essentials of a proper home care routine, supported by current evidence.

1Brush twice daily for two minutes with a soft-bristled or electric toothbrush.
2Use a fluoride toothpaste with at least 1,450 ppm fluoride concentration.
3Clean between your teeth daily with floss, interdental brushes, or a water flosser.
4Brush your tongue or use a tongue scraper to reduce bacteria.
5Replace your toothbrush or brush head every three months, or sooner if bristles are frayed.
